SAW STUDIO - The Heart & Soul of My Studio!
Tim Miskimon | Owner, Engineer, Musician | Basement Floor Productions | Baltimore, MD | www.basementfloor.com

I've been using SAW in my studio nearly everyday since 1994. After all these years I'm still amazed with all the options this program gives me. I still work with analog tape & consoles and SAW STUDIO inter - connects perfectly with all my outboard gear. During the past 12 years I've worked with just about every major brand DAW software known to man and I feel very lucky to have SAW STUDIO as my main recording & editing software. I love the clean, uncluttered look of the console & it's stability is second to none. Speaking of second to none - no other software company in the world has the support that RML offers. Just take a look at the 300+ page manual and all the features will blow you away. Over the past 15 years Bob Lentini has poured his heart & soul into Saw. I feel very fortunate to have been along for the ride to witness a true genius at work. With every upgrade it becomes more and more obvious how innovative SAW STUDIO is.

We Do It ALL with SAWStudio
Will Shenk | Chief Engineer | National Media Services, Inc. | www.nationalmediaservices.com

Although we are very proud of our music production capabilities, we do it ALL with SAWStudio. With real time processing, not having to wait for effects to render, I am able to turn projects around in no time.

In my previous professional experiences, before coming to N.M.S., I became very familiar with other products that seemed to be handling the tasks just fine. Now it is evident that these other systems could never handle the turnaround that our clients are always demanding. SAWStudio will always be the master link in our chain. As for our music production, if a potential client becomes concerned about the capabilities of SAWStudio, or even the lack of needless proprietary hardware, we can usually put them at ease during the first recording session. And talk about support; try to find it anywhere else. We are lucky to have RML Labs working for us. Thanks Bob.

I'm No Stranger To Recording
Randy Dorman | Jazz Guitarist/Producer/Engineer/Arranger/Composer |
Scene Ridge Records & Studio
| Old Hickory, TN

As you can see I wear many hats. I purchased my first recording apparatus a Teac 4 Track in 1977 when I joined Kenny Rogers. I knew then I needed a creative outlet for myself, because playing a superstars hits on a nightly basis and making it sound fresh is totally different from being creative and stretching out in a jazz band.

I'm fairly new to the computer having purchased my first one Christmas of 2002. I did however upgrade my recording equipment over the years to a 80-8 and then "Stand Alone" hard disk recorders. I was introduced to SAW PRO in 2001 by a dear friend and colleague Frank V. Farrell while mixing my "No Boundaries" Cd. He's been on the cutting edge of the Saw products for years now. He told me about SAW STUDIO and I'm eternally grateful he helped me take the next step in my musical recording journey. My blessing in all this is I didn't have to unlearn a bunch of computer commands but was able to grasp Bob's vision of how a program was suppose to work...AND WORK IT DOES! I'm also told I'm one of the first to record directly into SAW STUDIO without a go-between consol. Pretty exciting for a newbie!

I honestly feel I can compete with the big boys and $100,000 plus studios with the advent of SAW STUDIO the mixing, recording, and editing ability is nothing less than top notch.

My thanks to Bob Lentini for a truly innovative program that even a novice to computers like me can run.

The immediacy of the interface and stellar quality of sound is unparalleled in any hardware or software you can find.
Robert Randolph | SigmaDelta Audio Labs | St. Petersburg, FL

I'd like to give my ringing endorsement for Sawstudio! I have never encountered any recording system that allows you to engineer with such speed and precision. The immediacy of the interface and stellar quality of sound is unparalleled in any hardware or software you can find. Did I mention the incredible boost our business has had? So much more speed and quality, it's no wonder!

Not only did I notice a huge improvement in my mixes - so did the clients.
Glenn Fricker | Spectre Sound Recording| Tecumseh, Ontario Canada

As someone who has been involved with computer multitracking since the early days, SAWStudio strikes me as a very mature platform. The machine coding facilitates a level of speed that I've yet to encounter anywhere else. The editing & softedge systems are unprecedented. The channel EQ's, Comps, & Gates sound fabulous, and the mixing engine stands far above any other DAW platform. I was seriously considering analog summing before I tried SAWStudio. After hearing how well my mixes were translating into the real world, I asked myself, "what's the point?" Not only did I notice a huge improvement in my mixes, so did the clients. In fact, my business has picked up by several orders of magnitude since I switched over to SAWStudio! Most importantly, however, I think Mr. Lentini has done what many in the audio industry would consider impossible: Render the 2 inch tape format obsolete.

A truly amazing recording/editing system that rivals all the rest.
Carey Langille | Ocean Sound Productions | Coldbrook NS Canada

At Ocean Sound Productions we had the choice of any of the recording software on the market and we chose SAWSTUDIO. Sure there are Bigger names floating around, but this package actually is the "TOOLS" we needed, at a price many times cheaper than others out there. There is NO dedicated hardware to buy and constantly upgrade. It's a truly native system. Since 1994 we have seen the quality and efficiency in Bob Lentini's programming. A truly amazing recording/editing system that rivals all the rest. With the latest addition of Midi Workshop, we have been able to offer clients an amazing combination of quality, speed and reliability. The midi and audio engines are LOCKED together! There is NO drift. Timing shifts are no longer an issue for us. Every time a client sees sawstudio in action, a big smile comes across their faces followed by a "WOW!!" Thanks Bob... Keep sawstudio rockin!

I don't believe that LS Records would be enjoying so much success and pure fun if it wasn't for you.
Brent Ellis| LS Records (a division of Ellis Enterprises) | Abbotsford BC Canada

Enclosed is a copy of the latest release from LS Records "Kerygma Muzic". This album was edited, mixed and mastered using your amazing software (SAWStudioLite). I don't believe that LS Records would be enjoying so much success and pure fun if it wasn't for you. Just yesterday, a client took a look at your software when he was here recording and said, "Man, the guy who wrote this software must be a genius."

I've been saying that for years... Thanks!

From tracking to mastering, SAWStudio can do it all.
George Hodgkiss | Owner/Engineer/Musician | Phoenix Productions
(a subsidiary of National Cassette Services) | Front Royal, VA

When clients enter my project studio they always look surprised by the simplicity of the control room area. “Where’s your console?” or “Where are all of your compressors and effects units,” they ask. Then I point to the computer screen and say “It’s all right there - in SAWStudio.”  They sometimes seem skeptical but when their project is finished they are always pleased with the results.

Now that I have SAWStudio all my tape machines, large mixing consoles and associated peripheral gear are history. My new formula for great sounding recordings is to start with an acoustically conditioned sound room, use high quality microphones, (properly placed, of course), high end mic pres, good reference monitors and SAWStudio - that’s it.

From tracking to mastering, SAWStudio can do it all. Thanks, Bob Lentini, for creating such a “musical and user-friendly” tool.

The transparency of SAWStudio is simply unmatched and the ease of operation is a dream come true!
Matt Owen | SortaPop Recording Studios | Vancouver, BC, Canada | www.sortapop.com

This is the most amazing recording tool I have ever used. I think 2" tape now has a good reason to rest peacefully. The transparency of SAWStudio is simply unmatched and the ease of operation is a dream come true! I am compiling vocals using the 8 layers on each track with so little effort it seems like I'm playing rather than working. I used to cringe at the thought an evening of cut and paste, but now it's copy and paste! I haven't even touched the automation yet and I already feel that I've gotten an unbelievable deal. I keep saying "Have I mentioned that I love this program" during sessions. Thank you Bob for the sacrifices you have made to make something so great for the rest of us!

Sometimes you have to think about some changes or ideas twice before doing it because of the steps that are needed like with [other systems]. Not anymore. With SAWStudio it is a reality today.
Mario Gonzalez | eQ Audio e Imagen | Tijuana, Mexico | http://www.eQai.com

I can not imagine my every day production life without SAWStudio. The work flow that can be achieved after using it turns into more speed and accuracy in every production. It is possible to repeat certain functions faster and faster, and that gives me a chance to do more. Sometimes you have to think about some changes or ideas twice before doing it because of the steps that are needed like with [other systems]. Not anymore. With SAWStudio it is a reality today.

I compare SAWStudio with the $30,000 systems.
Frank Farrell | Technical Director | Kenny Rogers Productions | Kansas City, MO

For me, it is a system crucial application.  We use it to play back tracks and video in real-time with a live band, in a total random play list, and in 4 years going as far a Poland and Australia it has not crashed once(!)

How much is that worth? I compare SAWStudio with the $30,000 systems, not the $1,000 systems.

Performance, Satisfaction, Reliability, Power, Speed, Control, Clients Happy, Enthusiastic mood that reflects in the performers work... SAWStudio!
Carlos Mills | Mills Records | Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

With this outstanding tool I am able to work my musical ideas exactly the way I want. SAWStudio has helped me throughout the years to get a Latin Grammy Nomination (2000) and to be included in a DVD-Audio release by DTS (2004). For a Live Recording Mobile Unit DAW, SAWStudio is second to none.

When someone works this hard to create something beautiful and right, it just makes us all want to take our own work to a higher level.
Tom Cloney | Viadoc | Denis, MA

Thanks Bob Lentini, for giving us this wonderful expression of your creative vision, breaking new ground while remaining rich in the collective heritage of decades of audio production interface design. SAWStudio, while remaining a tour de force of the programmer's art, assumes a delightful transparency in use. It's quality, responsiveness, and subtle aesthetics make it a worthy successor to the custom hardware consoles of yore.

I'm trying to finish the manual, but I keep getting distracted by the fun I'm having digging out old and new material, remixing, adding new tracks -- there's just something about the gestalt of this program that draws me in to play with the music. It slips on like a comfortable pair of driving gloves and says, "Take me for a spin".

The design seems to strike just the right balance between power and sensible limits. Rather than being a marketeer's grab-bag of cluttered features, it does the important things very well, with well-informed balance, grace and style. This isn't a musical word processor. This is software with soul, an instrument of creation, a finely-tuned creative prosthesis.

Creating good art is challenging enough. Bob's tightly-focused design and superb execution mean I have one less thing to worry about in my daily work.

There isn't much of this sort of quality going around these days, and there are those of us who appreciate the difference. It's an inspiring thing, it really is. When someone works this hard to create something beautiful and right, it just makes us all want to take our own work to a higher level.

Hats off to a job well done.

It has actually increased my business considerably once clients realized what a powerful tool SAWStudio is.
Ken Burke | Blue Wave Productions | Vancouver BC, CANADA | http://www.burkevilleproductions.com

I made the jump to SAWStudio around early March after attending NAB and doing a lot of research and considering other systems that my competitors and clients were familiar with. I have been using both AMS Audiofile and Protools for the last ten years and now wish I had switched to SAW sooner.

It has actually increased my business considerably once clients realized what a powerful tool SAWStudio is. I am now doing more post and mixing more music projects that would have previously gone to other facilities. Clients enjoy the very easy interface, versatility, power and SUPERIOR sound inherent in the SAWStudio design. I was very impressed by the solid technical support provided, many times speaking to the designer Bob Lentini even on nights and weekends! My staff also had no problem running SAWStudio in a very short time with the help of the online tutorials.

Congratulations for introducing a truly innovative and powerful tool!

SAWStudioLite is brilliant!
Jonathan Trotter | Electracoustic LTD | London UK

I upgraded to SAWStudioLite from SawPlus32 a few days ago. I just have to say that this software meets and exceeds all my expectations.

It has the stability, ease of interlinking between views, and quality of design, I am used to from SAWPlus32. The smooth handling of difficult Direct-X FX in real-time, power of the virtual console, zero latency when using controls, and the extra sophistication of the save options is still a knockout even after reading and viewing all of the promo material. I was also impressed by the way SAWPlus32 sessions are imported.

I've never experienced a faster, more intuitive, more complete, more competitively priced program than SAWStudio.
Carl Grout | Creative Trax | Mt. Vernon, MO

I've been doing professional production/producing in and for the major markets for over 30 years. I've kept up with and used most every major cutting edge technology since 1968 (when I started on air in San Francisco.) I've never experienced a faster, more intuitive, more complete, more competitively priced program than SAWStudio.  For the true professional, it's a dream come true.

With SAWStudio, everything is highly intuitive and efficient. Bob has re-designed the DAW, creating a new model that isn't slowed down by the conventions of the past.
Dave Spiker | Imagination Media | Blaine, WA

It's a different GUI, but as you get accustomed to it, it's much faster than the other options  Screen redraws are instantaneous and layouts are User-definable. You can solo a selected track or have solo follow the hot track.  You can have multiple libraries open and access any soundfile immediately. You can insert multiple soundfiles on successive tracks with one operation. You can change mix parameters on multiple channels in one operation. You can insert plug-ins on the fly. You can mix files of different sampling rates in the same session without going through a conversion process. With Soft Edge, you can create instant crossfades with no stem files.  You can switch between layers as you playback and the audio follows the layers. And, for me, the biggest issue is mixing down faster than real time (if no outboard processing is used, obviously).  I produce mostly half-hour radio programs. I can mix a half-hour show in about 60 seconds.  Pretty remarkable.  My Pro-Tools friends are jealous. And are a lot further in debt.

Speed and reliability are paramount to me. I feel like I have the speed of a Ferrari with the dependability of a Honda. Is it worth the money? Definitely. It's a serious workstation for those who seriously can't afford to work slowly or have down time.

And with the plans Bob has for the near future, it's a slam dunk. My two cents' worth.

It's great not to be tied down to a "traditional" studio and still be able to say "Hey, we aren't sacrificing anything by doing it this way. Heck... It's better!"
Perry Barrett | Dark Horse Productions | Richmond, British Columbia Canada

You may have heard "There Is No Arizona" and "When I Think About Angels" (both no.1 country hits) by Jamie O'Neal . Her dad Jimmie Murphy is a good friend and we have just started mixing songs for his other daughter Minnie (also *very* talented).

Her tracks were recorded in Nashville and delivered to me from a Pro Tools rig. I talked with the PT guy on the phone and whatever he asked.... my reply was, "No Problem. Just send me the files!" :)

The point is, Jimmie could have had this mixed in Nashville, but here I am sitting at home mixing away. Studio is giving me that kind of Freedom! ;) It's great not to be tied down to a "traditional" studio and still be able to say "Hey, we aren't sacrificing anything by doing it this way. Heck... It's better!" ;) Now with Studio, for the first time, I feel like I can work at home and there are *no* compromises! :)

SAWStudio truly is of a different breed...
Tony Perisich | Musician/recording engineer | Mourning wood studio | Chicago, IL

I've been using SAW in one form or another since some of the earliest versions, and it has always been ahead of it's time, in speed, features and quality. Bob Lentini has been creating these programs before most of the other software companies, and doing it for the right reasons, for us! I'm just glad I found SAWStudio when I did, because it's way ahead of the pack. It is a serious production tool that works like it is supposed to, every time without fail. Bob really has replaced an entire studio full of very high-end gear with one incredible program, period!

SAWStudio is absolutely the best software investment I've ever made! I can track sessions with incredible speed and accuracy with Studios' mix templates and f-key views and record panel assignments. When it comes to mixing, Studio shines with powerful real time automation that has to be seen to be believed, automated FX, sends and returns, of course all in real time and latency isn't even an issue here...REALLY!

Oh and most importantly, the sound...well it just doesn't get any better, 24 bit, 96khz, built in dither algorithms, whatever you need, it's there. Editing is so fast and easy it's unbelievable, you can edit down to the sample, redraw the waveform in any way you want to eliminate problem areas and bam, done!

There is so much hype about products today, and then you buy them only to find out that they are slow or incompatible, or don't work like they claim, and that can be very frustrating, but SAWStudio truly is of a different breed, when you're using it, you don't think about it, it's transparent to you...It just works, and in the heat of a session, that's a very good thing!

With SAWStudio it has never been more fun to work as it is now.
Christian Christensen | Dramatone | Stockholm,Sweden

My SAWStudio has been in production almost everyday since I bought it - mixing, mixing, mixing. I just have to say - it has never been more fun to work as it is now.

SAWStudio has made my post production life much easier...
Jim Jackson | Jackson Recording | Bedford, TX

SAWStudio has made my post production life much easier and, in many ways, has changed my concept of mixing, editing and mastering. The speed and quality of SAWStudio are unsurpassed, and I can keep up with the volume of work my studio produces much better than before. My turnkey unit has performed flawlessly for over a year.

SAWStudio "walks the walk" with this stable and powerful virtual dream studio.
Mark Edwards | Life A/V Productions | Burlington, Iowa

SAWStudio has totally changed the way I record, edit and mix. It is nothing short of inspiring. Others "talk the talk", but SAWStudio walks the walk" with this stable and powerful virtual dream studio. From simple voiceover to full blown multitracking, SAWStudio delivers!

SAWStudio for me is the most significant advancement in recording technology that I have seen...
Harold Thompson | Thompson Audio Services, Inc. | Roanoke, VA

I have been a recording engineer for almost 30 years. I go back to the early days of analog multitrack and I don't miss it a bit! I've always had a dream of having the whole studio in one box. Now it is here, or at least the biggest part of it anyway. SAWStudio for me is the most significant advancement in recording technology that I have seen since I started recording.

The interface is so well thought out that I had no trouble working with it immediately. It is great technology that stays out of the way of the creative process. The stress levels of my sessions now are so greatly reduced for myself and my clients that recording has become fun again. Things move so quickly and smoothly that I find that I am much more able to concentrate on the creative aspects of recording instead of wrestling with punchin/punchout timings and waiting for tape machines to roll back and sync. The talent is much happier because they also are not hindered by the process either. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "You can do that?" from the person on the other side of the glass.

When it comes time to mix, SAWStudio really shines. I feel like I have been turning out some of the best mixes of my career. The level of detail in the mix that I am able to obtain, and the amazing ability to fix things that we missed in the tracking sessions is a continual source of amazement for my clients.  Thanks to Bob Lentini for a great creation. Keep up the good work.

All the mixing and 95% of the post-processing is done within SAWStudio. The quality has been top notch. The producers and director are both quite impressed!
Clint Bennett | Tahoe City, CA

Just wanted to share a bit how Studio has impacted the way I work. Currently I'm working on the score for a 90 minute feature. I'm in a studio with a 48 fader Euphonix, a full ProTools mix plus rig, and my own SAWStudio rig (along with a motormix). What it comes down to is the ProTools machine hasn't been on once (haven't needed it) and although the Euphonix console sounds great it's been reduced to a front end for recording and monitoring only. All the mixing and 95% of the post-processing is done within SAW. The quality has been top notch. The producers and director are both quite impressed with the versatility and quality of the system. Now, if I can only convince the studio owner to move his console off to the side so the workstation can really be in the sweet spot. :)

Anyhow, it's a great ride and only getting better!

In SAWStudio, any sound, any tune, any song becomes clay in my hands (or should I better say ears :-)
Veit Kenner | Sound Design | Sound Production | Hamburg | Germany

I've been using Bob Lentini's products for almost ten years now. I use SAW mainly for extensive editing of music and the creation of sound effects. If I can imagine a sound, I can make it work in SAW. The software _never_ limited my creativity.

After the introduction of SAWStudio I quickly found new ways of modeling sound I didn't think before it was possible. Any sound, any tune, any song becomes clay in my hands (or should I better say ears :-) and I can shape and mix it in any way, my everyday jobs require it.

The most remarkable features in SAWStudio for me are:

- automation of any kind and superb automation fine tuning
- real-time performance
- editing is extremely fast _and still_ precise
- overall speed
- configurability

The tightest cleanest vision always comes from an individual, not a committee
David Hayes | Stonewood Productions | Silsbee, TX

One could list cool features, one could talk about real-time performance, numbers of tracks, the feel of the engine, or so many other things. There are really two skills here, having the vision in the first place, then making it happen. The tightest cleanest vision always comes from an individual, not a committee.

I have made an executive decision .... Bob's the man.

Now with SAWStudio there is power to actually *do* my work and bring to life what I imagine and create in my mind like never before...
Commodor Perry Barrett | Blue Wave Studio | BC, Canada

SAWStudio is indeed the Industry Alternative. I always brag about the system and try to enlighten some of the folks that Yes! - there is an alternative to ProTools and I am using it!

Yeah - SAWStudio is pretty impressive all right. Easy to impress folks with that kind of power when they see it in action. For me it is the power to actually *do* my work and bring to life what I imagine and create in my mind. That is what it's always been about. Now with Studio there is power like never before to do that AND do it quickly and easily. And not only is it available - it is affordable!

Yeah! It's a great product! SO help me Bob!  I'm proud to be a part of such a fine product.

SAWStudio may well be the greatest bargain ever offered!!!!
Jack Senecal  | Blue Buzzard Records | Neschanic Stn, NJ

What's not to like? This is a major breakthrough in DAW design. It is the equivalent of 2 Oxfords linked together with a large room full of Compressors,  gates and eq, complete with incredible patching and crosspatching capabilities  all built-in. AND all of it is automatable on 144 tracks, 6 aux returns, and 48 outputs (more combinations than you can dream of) AND it works!!!  Yes I like it, Yes I am very impressed. This may well be the greatest bargain ever offered!!!!

Kudos to Lentini & Co.

Your SAWStudio program is truly a work of art!
Mike Bridges | Germantown Studio | Nashville, TN

Man, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! for your work on the latest update. Adding the Broadcast wave file support along with the very cool Sync chase has shaved soooo much time off my work that I wanted you to know how very much your efforts are appreciated!!

Your SAWStudio program is truly a work of art!

All I can say is WOW!
Ray Yates | Flying Hands Music | Louisville, KY

I finally got a break from listening to new material for my next CD and got a chance to play with Studio a little. All I can say is WOW! I'm sure I'll have some questions once I get a chance to actually do an entire project, but for now, Great job Bob!
